 SEAM 09 – spatial phrases – DANCE-ARCHITECTURE-FILM 

In September 2009- I was a participant in the organisation of the SEAM09 Spatial Phrases Symposium. I was also quite fortunate to take part in the workshop of Erin Manning – Relationscapes. It was a great experience of the understanding movement through space ,surroundings and objects. The awareness of the body in space and in relations to other bodies or entities such as the human  figure and fabric. The discussion which took place was just as rich as the performative experience. The clothing being the starting point to explain a relational object, an object of choreography which Manning stresses in different ot dance itself. Each piece of clothing is designed and made by Erin herself. The pieces included fabrics such as chinese silks, egyptian cottons and organzas. In having a deep connection and realization of ones movement in space, an active and  conscious decision-making of taking those steps is at play.
